My Why
The Dream Behind SkillBase

It’s been a dream of mine since Black Ops 2. Not just the game itself, but the idea of being part of something competitive, creative, and community-driven. Optic, EG, Faze, TK they all had a part to play in that fueled this fire within me. Even though life took me in another direction, working full-time in the electrical field, raising a family…
I never let go of the dream:
to build my own gaming center, and one day, my own Call of Duty team.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t had the time to keep up with every CDL match or breakdown every meta shift. Between my job and my kids, it’s hard to sit still, let alone grind rank.
But the dream has stayed with me.
And now, it’s finally within reach.
SkillBase is my opportunity to bring that vision to life.
To create a home for competitive gaming, not just for me, but for anyone who’s ever felt like their dreams were too far away. I want to build a winning Call of Duty team, even if we start at the amateur level. I want SkillBase to be a place where talent gets recognized, effort gets rewarded, and community comes first.
It’s more than esports. SkillBase will offer free enrichment programs in financial literacy, tutoring, ESL, and tech education. Especially for Black and minority communities. We’re not just running tournaments, we’re changing lives.
This isn’t a side hustle or a weekend idea.
It’s a long-term mission. This is something I’m committed to building the right way.
